Here are some tips and tricks when dealing with a forum.
Most of your standard formating abilities are listed above you in the "add tags" section, but here is some quick tricks for basic formating.
Tags are a lot like HTML, if you have ever messed with that, but instead of using "<>" to define a tag, you use "[]". And like with HTML, to close a tag you must include a forward slash "[/]"
ex: [fake tag]Random[/fake tag]
Tags can also be combined to make advanced formating effects or other neat stuff like pictures that link to web sites.
Ex of combined tag: [fake tag]Random[/fake tag]
Keep in mind that you have to close the tags in the same order that you opened them, also depending on where you place a tag may change how it functions. If this is confusing you, don't worry. Hopefully the examples below will shed some light on the subject.
Bold:
To get font to appear bold enter the text like this:
Text you want bold
Underline:
To underline font, enter text like this:
This text is on top of a line
Italic:
To italicize font, enter the text like this:
I am all slanted and dumb
Bolded Underlined Italicized Font:
To do a combonating format, enter it like this:
Silly formatting text (NOTE: The context, the order of the tags when you first enter them, does not matter. As long as you close them in the same order you opened them, it will have the same result.)
In the next Post I'll talk about images and linking websites. -Wallace
